Half-year report of tinyBuild: revenue dropped to $18.8 million, while the announcement of Kingmakers became one of the most successful in the company's history

tinyBuild released a financial report for January-June 2024. The company is satisfied with the initial results of its updated strategy, as tinyBuild has been focusing on creating "thousand-hour games" without AAA budgets since the beginning of the year.

Kingmakers

The company reminded that over six months, its games were added to wishlists over 3 million times. Currently, three tinyBuild projects are in the top 100 most wished-for games on Steam. These are Kingmakers (23rd place), Streets of Rogue 2 (64th place), and Sand (77th place).

tinyBuild named the announcement of the medieval shooter with knights and modern weapons, Kingmakers, as one of the most successful in its history. According to the company, the announcing trailer gathered tens of thousands of views. Other project metrics were not disclosed.

Meanwhile, the role-playing game Broken Roads did not meet expectations.

Nevertheless, compared to the previous year, tinyBuild's revenue decreased by 19% to $18.8 million. This is partially linked to the closure of the publisher Versus Evil in December 2023. It is noted that 89% of the revenue came from back-catalog games.

The company once again showed an operating loss, but it decreased significantly—to $6.17 million in the first half of 2024 compared to $31.9 million in the first half of 2023.

As of June 30, 2024, tinyBuild had $9.2 million in cash—$6.7 million more than on December 31, 2023.
