Sales of Dragon Age: Inquisition exceed 12 million copies

Former BioWare studio producer Mark Darrah stated that he does not understand why some players consider Dragon Age: Inquisition a commercial failure. According to him, the role-playing game has sold over 12 million copies to date.

Darrah added that at the time of its release, Dragon Age: Inquisition significantly exceeded Electronic Arts' (EA) sales expectations.

Recall that Dragon Age: Inquisition was released in November 2014 on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, making it the most successful launch of any BioWare game. In April 2018, Darrah described it as the best-selling game in the studio's history. Whether it still holds this title, the developer did not specify.

After Dragon Age: Inquisition, the studio released three projects: Mass Effect: Andromeda (March 2017), Anthem (February 2019), and the Mass Effect Legendary Edition collection (May 2021). Their current sales figures are unknown. It was officially reported earlier that EA is satisfied with the sales of Mass Effect: Andromeda and Mass Effect Legendary Edition, while Anthem failed.
