Nexon plans to increase its annual revenue to $5.2 billion through hyper-localized work with games
Nexon has informed investors about its financial plans for the next few years, expecting a substantial revenue increase by 2027.
The First Descendant
Nexon anticipates that by 2027:
- Its annual revenue will reach 750 billion yen ($5.22 billion), marking a 77.3% increase compared to 2023;
- Annual operating profit will grow to 250 billion yen ($1.74 billion), an 85% increase compared to 2023;
- The total annual income from the company’s three key franchises (Dungeon & Fighter, MapleStory, and FC) will rise to 530 billion yen ($3.69 billion), a 76% increase compared to 2023.
Nexon also announced that it has set a minimum target ROE (Return on Equity) of 10%. It noted that the ROE could potentially rise to 15%. To recall, ROE indicates how much profit the invested funds in the company generate.
As Nexon explained, the revenue growth will be largely achieved through its new approach to franchise management. In early August, Nexon announced plans to actively create new IPs and expand existing projects to new platforms and markets.
Nexon added that it will place more emphasis on "hyper-localization," establishing special teams in different regions to develop unique content that considers cultural nuances.
