The sales of Black Myth: Wukong reached 18 million copies in two weeks
In a conversation with Bloomberg, Daniel Wu—one of the founders of Hero Games, the largest external shareholder of the creators of Black Myth: Wukong—mentioned this number.

- Hero Games expects Black Myth: Wukong to sell more than 30 million copies over its lifetime;
- The development of Black Myth: Wukong took six years;
- The budget for the game was $70 million;
- Game Science has started working on an expansion for Black Myth: Wukong;
- Hero Games owns 20% of Game Science. The company purchased this stake in 2017 for 60 million yuan ($8.5 million). If the deal were to take place now, Hero Games would have to pay significantly more, as Game Science is now valued at “billions of yuan.”
To recap, Black Myth: Wukong was released on August 20 on consoles and PC. According to Game Science, the game became an instant hit. In just the first three days, more than 10 million people bought it. Soon after release, Black Myth: Wukong also became the second most popular game in Steam's history, peaking at 2,415,714 concurrent players.
