Shift Up has had a record-breaking quarter: its revenue increased by 65% thanks to the release of Stellar Blade
The South Korean studio Shift Up released its report for the second quarter of 2024. It announced that it achieved the highest quarterly revenue in its history.
Stellar Blade
- From April to June, Shift Up earned 65.2 billion KRW (48 million USD), which is a 65.4% increase compared to the previous year.
- Of this amount, 38.4 billion KRW (28.3 million USD) was generated by Goddess of Victory: Nikke — these are the funds after deducting the publisher Level Infinite's share, a subsidiary of Tencent. Year-over-year, Shift Up's revenue from Goddess of Victory: Nikke increased by 3.5%.
- Royalties from Stellar Blade sales amounted to another 25.86 billion KRW (19 million USD). The studio expressed satisfaction with the game's performance, noting that even though Stellar Blade sales have slowed, the game still consistently attracts new users.
Breakdown of Shift Up's quarterly revenue by games
- Shift Up's net profit for the quarter rose by 5.1% to 40.3 billion KRW (29.7 million USD).
- As of June 30, Shift Up had 309 employees. The studio plans to actively hire and expects to increase its workforce to 420 by the end of the year.
