Shift Up has had a record quarter: its revenue increased by 65% thanks to the release of Stellar Blade

The South Korean studio Shift Up has released its report for the second quarter of 2024. It announced that it achieved the highest quarterly revenue in its history.

Stellar Blade

  • From April to June, Shift Up earned 65.2 billion won (48 million dollars), which is an increase of 65.4% compared to last year.
  • Of this amount, 38.4 billion won (28.3 million dollars) came from Goddess of Victory: Nikke—this figure is already after deducting the share of the game's publisher, Level Infinite, a subsidiary of Tencent. Over the year, Shift Up's revenue from Goddess of Victory: Nikke grew by 3.5%.
  • Royalty revenues from the sales of Stellar Blade amounted to an additional 25.86 billion won (19 million dollars). The studio is pleased with the game's performance. It noted that while sales of Stellar Blade have slowed down recently, the game continues to steadily attract new users.

Shift Up's Quarterly Revenue Breakdown by Game

  • Shift Up's net profit for the quarter increased by 5.1% to 40.3 billion won (29.7 million dollars).
  • As of June 30, Shift Up had 309 employees. The studio plans to actively hire and expects to increase its staff to 420 people by the end of the year.
