Take-Two report: the company's losses are increasing, Sid Meier’s Civilization VII will be released early next year
Take-Two Interactive has reported its financial results for the first quarter of fiscal 2025, which ended on June 30.

- Take-Two reported revenue of $1.34 billion. It earned 4% more than last year.
- Digital sales accounted for 97% of the company's revenue.
- Mobile games brought in the most money — $722.5 million (+6.2%). Console games brought in another $508.9 million (+1%), and PC and other platform games — $106.8 million (+6.3%).
- The most profitable games in the first quarter were NBA 2K24, GTA Online, GTA V, Red Dead Online, Red Dead Redemption 2, Words With Friends, Merge Dragons, Toon Blast, Empires & Puzzles, and mobile hyper-casual titles.
- Take-Two’s net bookings increased by 1% to $1.22 billion.
- The company's net losses increased to $262 million. A year ago, they were $206 million.
- Take-Two partially revised its forecast for the entire fiscal year and now expects much larger losses. It is estimated that they will be $690-757 million instead of the previously expected $606-674 million.
- By March 31, 2027, Take-Two still plans to release 40 games. The release of GTA VI is still scheduled for fall 2025. Sid Meier’s Civilization VII is scheduled to be released between January and March 2025.

- Red Dead Redemption 2 — 65 million copies. The entire series — 91 million copies.
- NBA 2K24 — 11 million copies. The entire series — 150 million copies.
- Borderlands 2 — 29 million copies, Borderlands 3 — 20 million copies. The entire series — 87 million copies.
- BioShock series — 43 million copies.
- Sid Meier’s Civilization series — 73 million copies.
- Zynga’s hyper-casual game downloads have exceeded 3.6 billion. As of June 30, 2024, the most downloaded titles were Hair Challenge — 262 million, Tangle Master 3D — 187 million, High Heels! — 162 million, Fill The Fridge — 134 million.
