EA Report: Profit Falls by 30%, New Dragon Age Won't Release Before October
Electronic Arts (EA) released its first-quarter financial report for fiscal year 2025, ending June 30. All key company metrics fell.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard
- Compared to last year, EA’s net revenue decreased by 14% to $1.66 billion.
- Net bookings dropped by 20% to $1.26 billion. Nevertheless, they surpassed EA's forecast. The company had hoped to achieve at least $1.25 billion.
- The lion’s share of bookings came from live services. They generated $1.09 billion, which is 7% less than the previous year.
- The largest platform in terms of bookings remained the console, accounting for $677 million (-25%). Following were PC ($295 million, -21%) and mobile devices ($290 million, -4%).
- EA’s net income was $280 million, a decrease of 30%.
- The release of Dragon Age: The Veilguard is scheduled for the third quarter of fiscal year 2025, which is October-December 2024. From January to March 2025, an unannounced game from EA partners is expected to be released.
