"M.Video-Eldorado": In the first half of 2024, console sales in Russia nearly doubled
The "M.Video-Eldorado" Group shared data on console sales in Russia for the first half of the year. According to them, the demand for consoles in the country is growing rapidly.
- As reported by "M.Video-Eldorado", Russians spent 15.5 billion rubles on console purchases over six months. This is 97% more than from January to June 2023.
- In total, in the first half of 2024, "M.Video-Eldorado" sold 704,000 consoles. This marks a 39% increase compared to the previous year.
- The PlayStation 5 is the sales leader for the half-year at "M.Video-Eldorado," both in monetary and unit terms. It accounted for 73% of all expenditures and 31% of all sold devices. It is noted that PlayStation console sales are steadily growing, while sales of Xbox and Nintendo Switch consoles are declining.
- Representatives from "Yandex Market" told the newspaper "Kommersant" that there was also an increase in console sales. Sales grew by 176% on the platform over the half-year. Whether this is in terms of money or units is not specified. The most popular consoles were PlayStation.
- Representatives from Wildberries informed "Kommersant" that their users spent 77% more on console purchases over six months compared to a year ago. The exact amount was not disclosed.
