Semi-annual video game sales in the UK fell by 29.4%
In the first half of 2024, residents of the United Kingdom spent almost one-third less on video games compared to the previous year. This data was shared by the British Entertainment Retailers Association (ERA).

- For January to June 2024, video game sales in the UK amounted to £348.6 million ($452 million);
- Of this amount, £236.9 million ($307.17 million) represented digital sales, which is 23% less compared to the first half of 2023;
- Sales of physical game copies fell by 40% to £111.7 million ($144.83 million);
- The ERA believes that video game sales in the country decreased due to a lack of major releases. The association expects the situation to improve in the second half of the year.
