Capcom announced that Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin has been purchased 2 million times worldwide. The game took almost three years to reach this milestone, as it was released on July 9, 2021.

Capcom also reported that total sales of the Monster Hunter series have exceeded 100 million copies (as of March 31, 2024). This makes it the company’s second best-selling franchise after Resident Evil, which has sold 157 million copies.
