Sales of Hogwarts Legacy exceeded 22 million copies
President of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment's David Haddad revealed the circulation of Hogwarts Legacy in an interview with Variety. He did not specify how the copies sold were distributed across the platforms.

Haddad added that 2 million copies of the game were sold in December during the holidays. In total, by December 31, gamers had spent 707 million hours in Hogwarts Legacy.
"I'm proud not only of the sales of the game, but also of how much the fans liked it. Gamers were able to take a fresh look at the world of Harry Potter, find themselves in it and become a part of it. This is exactly what the Avalanche team wanted, and this is what allowed Hogwarts Legacy to attract a lot of attention and become the best-selling game of the year in the global industry. Usually, this position is occupied by sequel games," Haddad said.
In November, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has already named Hogwarts Legacy the best-selling novelty of 2023. At that time, she relied on data from analytical firms Circana, GSD and internal analytics. It's worth noting that we don't know the actual sales of many other hit games released last year. For example, one of Hogwarts Legacy's competitors in the fight for the title of the main bestseller of the year may be The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom — as of September 30, its circulation was 19.5 million copies.
In an interview with Variety, Haddad also recalled that Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment intends to continue to actively work with games. The corporation is going to make game services for its largest franchises and constantly release new content for existing projects so that gamers spend as much time as possible in them.
Hogwarts Legacy was released on February 10 on PC and PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. Later, it was also released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
