19 mobile games crossed $1 billion in revenue in 2023, including LoL: Wild Rift, Arknights, and Royal Match

Almost twenty mobile games joined the list of mobile “unicorns” this year, including titles such as LoL: Wild Rift, Marvel Strike Force, and mobile versions of EA Sports FC and eFootball.

According to a new report from data.ai, 26 mobile apps reached $1 billion in lifetime revenue in 2023. Most of them (19) are games.

Interstingly, 11 titles on the list were developed or published by Asian companies such as Camel Games, Bandai Namco, Tencent, and Konami.

The full list can be seen below (in alphabetical order):

  • Age of Origins — post-apocalyptic tower defense game by Chinese mobile developer/publisher Camel Games;
  • Arena of Valor — global version of Tencent’s MOBA hit Honor of Kings, which remains the highest-grossing mobile title worldwide with over $10 billion in revenue;
  • Arknights — tower defense game with RPG elements by Chinese studio Hypergryph;
  • Boom Beach — strategy title from Supercell (according to the Finnish studio, the game crossed the $1 billion mark in 2019, so it is unclear why data.ai put it on the list this year);
  • DoubleU Casino — social casino title developed by South Korean company DoubleU Games;
  • EA Sports FC Mobile 24 Soccer — mobile version of Electronic Arts’ football game, which is updated each year with the launch of every new title in the franchise;
  • eFootball 2024 — mobile version of Konami’s sports franchise (previously known as Pro Evolution Soccer);
  • League of Legends: Wild Rift — mobile MOBA from Riot Games, which topped $1 billion in revenue in September;
  • Lightning Link Casino — social casino game by Product Madness, which is now owned by Australian gambling manufacturer Aristocrat Leisure;
  • Lineage W — one of several mobile titles based on the MMORPG franchise Lineage;
  • Marvel Strike Force — turn-based RPG and one of the top-grossing games from Scopely, which was acquired by Saudi Arabia’s Savvy Games Group for $4.9 billion earlier this year);
  • Odin Valhalla Rising — mobile MMORPG developed by South Korean company Lionheart Studios;
  • One Piece Treasure Cruise — mobile RPG based on the One Piece franchise from Bandai Namco;
  • PokoPoko — match-3 title developed by Japanese company Line Corporation;
  • Puzzles & Survival — match-3 title created by Chinese developer 37Games;
  • Royal Match — match-3 title developed by Turkish studio Dream Games;
  • Solitaire Grand Harvest — mobile card game from Australian studio Supertreat;
  • War and Order  — tower defense game by Camel Games;
  • World Series of Poker — mobile card game from Israel-based mobile publisher Playtika.
