Kadokawa Report: Armored Core VI sales in Japan exceeded 700 thousand copies, work on DLC for Elden Ring is "going smoothly"

Japan's Kadokawa, the parent company of FromSoftware, has released a financial report for the quarter ended September 30. We have chosen the main thing about the gaming division.

Revenue from the gaming division, which in addition to FromSoftware includes Spike Chunsoft and Gotcha Gotcha Games, increased by 105.6% compared to last year. It reached ¥9.36 billion ($62 million).

The operating profit of the division jumped by 180.8% at once, amounting to 2.87 billion ($19 million).

Armored Core VI has made a strong start in Japan. It sold 700 thousand copies in the country. Sales of the game in the rest of the world are not disclosed. Kadokawa said only that they should grow by March 2024.

The development of the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree add-on is going according to plan, but Kadokawa is not ready to name a release date yet.

Spike Chunsoft has increased sales thanks to the release of the game Master Detective Archives: Rain Code for Nintendo Switch. It is not reported how much they amounted to.

Kadokawa wants to scale up the FromSoftware publishing business.

Kadokawa also plans to expand the production of games and aggressively invest in the development of mobile games using its IP.
