Capcom expects that within ten years, sales of its games in India will grow 20 times
Capcom wants to significantly increase its presence in India over the next ten years. In an interview with Bloomberg, chief operating officer Haruhito Tsujimoto said that by the end of this period, Capcom plans to sell more games in the country than in China.
He pointed out that the Indian gaming market is growing rapidly. The company intends to use this and raise the annual sales of games from 100,000 copies to 2 million copies.
"Within 5-10 years, the Indian market will grow exponentially. Young people who like games will get older, and the country's economy will develop," Tsujimoto said. "The population of India has already exceeded that of China. Given this, we can expect that our business will go better there than in China."
To increase sales, Capcom is going to enter into partnerships with local organizations. In addition, she wants to release more games on mobile devices, the most popular gaming platform in India. Recall, according to Niko Partners, 96.8% of Indian gamers now play on smartphones.
