The creators of Ratatan raised 11 times the minimum goal on Kickstarter
On September 1st, the crowdfunding campaign for Ratatan, a new rhythm-action game from the creators of Patapon, concluded on Kickstarter. Over the month, developers raised ¥219 million ($1.5 million) from gamers.
This amount allowed Ratatan to secure the 34th spot in the list of the most funded games in Kickstarter's history. A total of 14,598 people participated in the campaign.
As a minimum goal, Ratata Arts set ¥20 million ($140,000). Their game achieved this within just 47 minutes of starting the fundraising.
However, the campaign did not meet the final stretch goal. If ¥225 million ($1.54 million) had been raised, small pets would have been added to the game for the "dark ratatans."
The beta test for Ratatan is expected to begin at the end of 2024, with a full release scheduled for April 2025. The game will be available on PC, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4 and 5, and the Nintendo Switch.
