Capcom report: Profit doubled, Swordcanes Studio joined the company

Capcom also shared the results of the last quarter, which ended on June 30, 2023. In the report, the company talked about the growth of all the main indicators.

▪️The company’s net sales increased by 73.8%, amounting to ¥43.8 billion ($311.7 million).

▪️Operating profit reached the level of ¥24 billion ($171 million). Growth by 99.4% in annual terms.

Capcom managed to achieve revenue growth thanks to the success of Street Fighter 6 and the remake of Resident Evil 4, as well as strong sales of games from the back catalog.

During the quarter, Capcom sold a total of 13.5 million copies of games. This is 1.8 million copies more than a year ago. The share of digital sales was 85.9% — 11.6 million copies sold.

As part of the report, Capcom announced the purchase of a 100% stake in the Japanese outsourcer Swordcanes Studio, which helps other companies with the creation of graphics for games. In particular, the studio participated in the development of Street Fighter 6, Final Fantasy XVI and Hi-Fi Rush.
