Diablo Immortal among top 15 fastest mobile games to surpass $500 million in revenue
The mobile version of Diablo Immortal, developed by Blizzard and NetEase, has passed another milestone a year after its global launch. Here is how its revenue compares to other hit titles.
- Diablo Immortal has generated around 22 million downloads and surpassed $525 million in player spending on iOS and Android in the 12 months since its launch on June 2, 2022. This according to mobile analytics platform data.ai.
- The game generated $500 million in revenue in 11 months. Only 14 titles have hit this mark faster than Diablo Immortal.
- For example, it took Pokémon GO just two months to reach this milestone, followed by Lineage M (three months) and Genshin Impact (four months).
- King’s Candy Crush Saga, another mobile game from Activision Blizzard, rounds out the top 10 with eight months.
- Diablo Immortal is now on par with Lionheart Studio’s MMORPG Odin Valhalla Rising. It also reached the $500 million mark faster than Call of Duty: Mobile (12 months).
- China accounts for 37% of Diablo Immortal’s lifetime revenue, followed by the US (24%). However, this year the share of US player spending surpassed the one in China at 33% vs. 19%.
- According to data.ai, it is also the third highest-grossing mobile MMORPG globally and the 24th largest mobile game in terms of worldwide revenue since its release.
Last year, Diablo Immortal surpassed $100 million in player spending in just eight weeks since launch, second only to Pokémon GO (two weeks). According to Sensor Tower, other mobile games in the top 5 are Fire Emblem Heroes (10 weeks), Fortnite (12 weeks), and Final Fantasy XV: A New Empire (22 weeks).
Earlier this month, Blizzard also released Diablo IV, the new main installment in the series, which brought in over $666 million in sales globally in its first five days. This makes it the fastest-selling game developed by Blizzard.
