Don't Nod reports record operating revenue of €30 million for 2022, sees strong sales potential in ARPG segment

Don’t Nod has released its financial report for the year ended December 31, 2022. The French studio has shared key figures, also outlining its plans for the future.

Don't Nod annual report 2022: record revenue of €30 million

  • According to the financial report, Don’t Nod reached €30 million in revenue last year, up 12.5% from 2021. This is the best result in the company’s history.
  • Operating EBIT (earnings before interest and taxes) was €3.12 million, compared to operating loss of €3.54 million in 2021.
  • Don’t Nod’s net income (profit) reached €2.55 million, compared to a €3.25 net loss last year.
  • Back catalog sales and revenues from Gerda: A Flame in Winter, an adventure game developed by PortaPlay and published by Don’t Nod, totaled €900k.
  • The company increased its production costs, including those related to games currently in development, by 42% to €23 million.

“2022 ends a two-year cycle primarily dedicated to building the richest intellectual property line-up in Don’t Nod’s history,” CEO Oskar Guilbert said, adding that “after focusing all our efforts on content creation and publishing, in 2023 we will start an unprecedented cycle of releases, generating profitable and sustainable growth.”

In 2023, Don’t Nod will launch two games, narrative-driven adventure Harmony: The Fall of Reverie and action RPG Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden (will be published by Focus Entertainment). Overall, the company has eight titles in its pipeline until 2025.

Don’t Nod said it will continue to invest in the action RPG segment because it sees “strong sales potential” in it.
