In the first quarter, users spent over $1.6 billion a week on mobile games
Gamers are still spending more on mobile games than they did before the pandemic. As the analysts found out data.ai in the first quarter of 2023, users worldwide left an average of $1.63 billion a week in mobile games – 28% more than at the beginning of 2020.
As for downloads, on average, mobile games were downloaded 1.2 billion times per week. How this figure has changed compared to the first quarter of 2020, analysts did not say.
The top three highest-grossing games of the quarter traditionally included Honor of Kings, Candy Crush Saga and Genshin Impact, and the top 3 games by downloads — Subway Surfers, Free Fire and Candy Crush Saga.
Separately, analysts noted the success of Gardenscapes from Playrix. The puzzle returned to the top ten both in the box office top and in the top downloads. Moreover, in the top downloads, she immediately rose by 40 points to ninth place.
