Gardenscapes revenue has exceeded $3 billion since its release. Almost a third of the amount the game earned in 2020
Today, August 25, Gardenscapes celebrates its fifth birthday. In honor of this, Sensor Tower analysts said that at the moment gamers have spent over $ 3 billion in the mobile blockbuster Playrix.
Recall that Gardenscapes began to demonstrate success immediately after the release. Already in the first day, it collected more than a million downloads and got into the top 100 box office iOS games in Russia, France, Great Britain and Germany. It also entered the top ten most downloaded games on iPhone and iPad in 100 countries.
However, the most successful time for Gardenscapes was 2020. According to Sensor Tower estimates, last year the title earned $959 million — almost a third of all revenue. This helped the Playrix project become the ninth game in the world by total revenue in the App Store and Google Play Store.
In 2021, Gardenscapes continued to earn well. In the first six months, gamers spent $405 million in it. Among the games in the Puzzle & Decorate category (Sensor Tower includes Gardenscapes), only another Playrix project, Homescapes, managed to help out more. His income was $469.2 million.
The main cash markets for Gardenscapes for all time since the release were the USA ($ 1.1 billion or 37%), Japan and Germany. The game has also gained popularity in China, ranking fourth in revenue in the local App Store.
Gardenscapes was released on August 25, 2016 and became one of the first games in the Puzzle & Decorate category. Its plot is tied to the butler Austin, who is trying to restore the abandoned garden around the family mansion. To do this, the player needs to solve match-3 puzzles.
