Forspoken sales did not meet Square Enix's expectations

Square Enix, in a presentation to investors, confirmed that Forspoken sold worse at the start than the company expected. She did not name the number of copies sold, but noted that sales were “low.”

Square Enix President Yosuke Matsuda added that Forspoken received not the best reviews from the press. However, he pointed out that the media praised the game for parkour and the combat system — the company will be able to use these elements in future projects.

Forspoken was released on January 24 on PC and PS5. At the time of writing the news, the PC version of the game has 63 points out of 100 on Metacritic and 59% positive reviews on Steam.
