Saber Interactive developer thanked Epic Games Store for good sales of World War Z on PC

Sales of World War Z on PC exceeded the expectations of Saber Interactive studio. Her management attributes the success of the game to its exclusivity for the Epic Games Store.

In the official press release of the developer, CEO Matthew Karch thanked Epic Games Store for its support. A week after the release of the game, its sales inthe epic store exceeded 250 thousand copies.

At the same time, the game proved to be excellent not only on the PC. Its sales on all platforms reached 1 million copies in a week, and the peak online was 70 thousand players. The developer does not provide data on the number of copies sold for each of the platforms.

Saber is extremely excited about the success of the game on all platforms. And as for the PC, we are significantly exceeding expectations there thanks to the support we received from the Epic Games Store.

Matthew Karch

CEO of Saber Interactive

We should add that sales of the game in the United States and European countries, according to Karch, “turned out to be at an equally strong level.”

According to PCGamesInsider, the results of World War Z prove that games can have a strong release on PC and without Steam. Although the news about the release of certain titles exclusively in the Epic Games Store (Borderlands 3, Metro Exodus, etc.) still leads to scandals from “deprived” Steam users.
