PUBG Mobile revenue increased by 365% due to seasonal passes
Following Fortnite, PUBG Mobile also introduced season tickets. In the first week after the start of their sales, the revenue of the game increased by 365%, according to the analytical company Sensor Tower.
Subscriptions have become an essential element of the monetization of the mobile version of PlayerUnknown’s main competitor Battlegrounds. In Fortnite, they are called Battle passes (Battle Pass) and put weekly challenges in front of players, for which you can receive additional rewards.
A week ago, his pass, this time royal (Royal Pass), appeared in PUBG Mobile. It is timed to coincide with the launch of a new game map.
The Royal Pass has a free version and an “elite” paid one, costing $9.99. The pass also gives players access to quests and unique seasonal rewards.
Thanks to this simple solution, PUBG Mobile’s weekly revenue amounted to $6.1 million. For comparison: in the previous three weeks, she earned only $1.3 million.
According to Sensor Tower, PUBG Mobile’s daily revenue now amounts to approximately $700 thousand, and the mobile version has earned $16 million in total since its launch.
Mobile Fortnite has better indicators so far — daily income of more than $ 1 million, total revenue exceeded $ 100 million. Such a difference in total revenue is due both to the fact that PUBG Mobile was released a month later, and to the fact that the monetization setup was delayed.
