Ubisoft's operating profit increased by 40% in a year
The French publisher Ubisoft reported an increase in operating profit to €237.7 million for the past financial year. This is 40.7% higher than last year’s result.
The data is presented in the company’s report for the annual period ended March 31, 2017.
During this time, Ubisoft’s sales reached €1.46 billion, an increase of 4.7%, with half of the company’s revenue coming from digital copies of games and content for them. In the previous year, digital sales accounted for 32% of the company’s revenue.
The leading platform for Ubisoft games in 2016-2017 was the PlayStation 4 — it accounted for 41% of sales. 27% of sales were sales for Xbox One, 14% — the share of PC. The remaining 6% shared mobile platforms and consoles of previous generations.

Ubisoft noted the success of the company’s new multiplayer projects — Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands and For Honor were named the leaders of gaming sales on PC and consoles in the first quarter of 2017.
Ubisoft director Yves Guillemot announced new parts of the company’s major franchises in the coming financial year — Far Cry, Assassin’s Creed, The Crew and South Park, as well as the relaunches of the Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon series.
