Rovio earned €66.3 million in the first quarter of 2017
The income of the author of Angry Birds for January-March 2017 amounted to €66.3 million. This is 94.4% more than a year earlier.
This was officially announced by Rovio yesterday, May 2.
The revenue growth compared to the 4th quarter of 2017 was less. It was 1.2%. This is a small indicator, but it is important to remember: October-December is one of the most profitable seasons for most entertainment companies, these months account for both Halloween and Catholic Christmas.
The company’s operating profit (EBIT) for the first quarter of 2017 also increased significantly compared to the same period last year. It amounted to €5.6 million. This is €4.3 million more than a year earlier.
Most of the company’s revenue came from the gaming division. It accounted for €56.6 million (one and a half times more than in 2016). The drivers of sales were: Angry Birds 2, Angry Birds Blast and Angry Birds Friends.
