AppAnnie: Android leads by downloads, and iOS leads by revenue
Apps on Android in the 3rd quarter of 2015 are downloaded more often than on iOS. But Yabloko leads in revenue. This is reported by the resource 9to5mac with reference to the research of the analytical company App Annie.
Downloads from Android stores in the 3rd quarter of 2015 were 90% more than downloads from the App Store. The reason for this separation was the growing installation base in India and the countries of Southeast Asia. This base, according to App Annie, is increasing due to inexpensive smartphones. That is, the number of downloads reflects little on revenue.
The leadership in revenue belongs to iOS. The App Store operates at the expense of one of the main markets in Asia – China. In the 3rd quarter of 2015, revenue from games and apps on iOS exceeded similar figures on Android by 80%.
