The Malaysian government is allocating $4.64 million to enhance the country's esports talent development
The Malaysian government has dedicated $4.64 million (£3.58 million, RM20 million) to enhance its esports sector.
According to reports from Bernama and noted by EsportsInsider, the Malaysia Madani Budget 2025 outlines a total of $53.3 million (£41.1 million, RM230 million) for all sports, with esports notably receiving $4.6 million (£3.5 million).
This investment aims to foster talent, enhance coaching, develop infrastructure, and promote grassroots programs.
The funding will also aid in establishing a national esports center designed to host both national and international competitions, complete with production facilities.
Malaysia hosted the PUBG Global Series 1 last year and will be the venue for the PUBG Global Championship later this year.
