70% of Russians familiar with esports would like to participate in CS tournaments:GO or other shooters

VK Play and ResearchMe conducted a study on esports. They interviewed 1,500 Russians over the age of 18 and found out that only 57% of respondents know about esports (and another 28% have heard of such a term).

Of those who are familiar with esports, one in five would like to become a professional esports player.

The main reasons to become an esports player are the opportunity to do what you love (49%), high income (30%) and fun (27%).
