Mail.Ru Group learned the preferences of Russian gamers in esports
The gaming division of the Mail company. Ru Group has prepared a study on the audience of esports tournaments in our country.
The favorite esports genre of the majority (76%) is shooters. The second and third places are occupied by strategies (44%) and MOBA (41%).
The majority (49%) of players choose competitive titles based on reviews from friends and acquaintances, 42% trust reviews on the web, the same number prefer games from their favorite developers. And only 21% of gamers pay attention to games thanks to advertising.
In addition, 54% of respondents watch broadcasts of esports tournaments.
Speaking about games in general, 83% of respondents said that games help them to get distracted and relax. 51% like games for the opportunity to play together with friends. 42% said that they like to learn the stories of games and influence them, and for another 40% gaming has become a part of life.
