Twitch: “Don't make mobile esports games”
Game developers should not take up the creation of esports games for mobile platforms,” a Twitch representative said at Pocket Gamer Connects London 2017.
Instead, developers should think about how to make the game good, and how competitions can work in it,” says Ryan Chapley, manager of esports programs at Twitch.
He also advised listening to the players at the alpha and beta testing stages, following their advice, observing their behavior. So developers will have the opportunity to understand how the game should develop and grow.
The same developers who still decided to make an esports title should formulate a specific task of the game, and also ask themselves why players will have to pay attention to it.
Twitch is a video streaming platform owned by Amazon. A distinctive feature is the focus on gaming streams and esports. The monthly audience of the platform is more than 100 million people. The monthly number of streamers is about 1 million.
