The chief executive of Unity, Matt Bromberg, referred to the recent earnings as the finest quarter since becoming a public entity.

Bromberg attributed the enhancement in both total and Grow Solutions revenues to the sustained progress of Unity Vector AI and the company's planned developments, particularly in light of the upcoming launch of Unity 7 in the first quarter of 2027.

Financial Overview

  • Revenue: $546 million, marking a 24% increase compared to the previous year
  • Create Solutions revenue: $158 million, a growth of 2% year-over-year
  • Grow Solutions revenue: $389 million, reflecting a 35% year-on-year rise
  • Net loss: $23 million, with a 4% margin year-over-year

In the second quarter, Unity achieved growth in every area, particularly noting a 38% rise in their strategic revenue sector, reaching $486 million.

The net loss stood at $23 million with a margin of 4%, a significant improvement from the $107 million net loss and a 24% margin recorded a year prior.

The 2% rise in the Create Solutions revenue was attributed to a boost in subscription income, somewhat impacted by reductions in cloud and hosting provisions due to earlier restructuring efforts.

The most substantial growth was seen in the Grow Solutions sector, which saw a 35% increase year-over-year, reaching $389 million.

This surge was driven by the Unity Ads Network, bolstered by AI-powered advertising and Vector platform for user acquisition, though offset by declines in IronSource following its shutdown earlier this year.

Earlier in May, Unity introduced AI tools for Unity 6 and future versions. The primary feature, Agentic Assistant, aids developers within game projects for better utilization of Unity's offerings.

These AI tools are designed for compatibility with Unity 7, slated for beta testing in December and full release in Q1 2027.

Unity 7 will extend directly from Unity 6, offering new features that will be thoroughly tested and integrated within the current engine framework.
