Using the Unity engine, it will become easier to make games for Netflix Games

The company Unity decided to add special support for Netflix’s gaming ecosystem to its eponymous engine.

Let us recall, Netflix has been involved in gaming for several years, releasing games on mobile devices and TVs. Some of these are indeed built on the Unity engine. However, up until now, developers had to figure out the best way to optimize titles for Netflix Games on their own, but now Unity has extended a helping hand.

Specifically, the company announced that developers will no longer need to create separate builds of games for mobile devices and TVs — the engine will allow the creation of a unified product for the ecosystem.

As of June 2026, the Netflix Games catalog includes over 120 games. Among those developed on Unity are Black Mirror: Thronglets, Squid Game: Unleashed, Underwatermelon: Fruit Merge, Unhinged, and many others.
