Unity reported a loss of $347 million for the quarter
The first quarter of 2026 was not very successful for Unity. In its financial report, the company reported significant net losses: compared to the previous year, they increased by 4.5 times.
Unity explained that the overwhelming majority of the losses are related to the write-off of assets due to the closure of the ironSource Ads Network and the upcoming sale of the publisher Supersonic. Without these factors, the losses would have been much more modest — $68 million. However, even with this, profitability is still out of reach for Unity.
On the other hand, Unity's quarterly revenue jumped by 17%, reaching $508 million.
Here is a breakdown of the revenue by business segments:
- Grow Solutions (monetization tools) — $352 million, +24%;
- Create Solutions (engine) — $157 million, +4%.
One of the main drivers of Unity's revenue growth was the Unity Vector advertising AI platform, which has recently shown excellent results. In addition, the company boasted increased income from its engine subscription services.
Unity hopes to further increase its revenue in the next quarter. The company is currently forecasting earnings in the range of $505 to $515 million. To understand the scale of growth: last year during this period, the company earned $441 million.
