The release of Godot 4.6 has taken place
The Godot team has released a new version of their engine. It has been four months since the previous release, version 4.5.
Among the key changes:
- The Jolt Physics engine is no longer experimental and is now one of the standard options in Godot;
- A new inverse kinematics system has been implemented for creating realistic animations;
- The Screen Space Reflection technology, used for working with reflective surfaces, has been completely redesigned. It now allows for more stable and realistic effects than before;
- A LibGodot library has been introduced, enabling the embedding of the Godot engine into third-party applications instead of running it as a separate executable file;
- Unique internal Node IDs have been added. The engine will be able to track each node even during scene refactoring, as well as when nodes are renamed or moved.
You can read more about the new version of the engine in the Godot blog.
