The legal entity of the Nau Engine is being dissolved

The team behind the Russian engine, Nau Engine, has decided to close its legal entity, as indicated by data from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (EGRUL). The newspaper "Kommersant" took notice of this development.

The registry states that the developers of the engine initiated the liquidation of LLC "N-Jinn" just under a month ago—on August 25, 2025. This process is expected to be completed no later than August 18, 2026.

Representatives of the game association APRIORI told "Kommersant" that the liquidation is a logical result of changes in the engine's strategy. Back in February, the Nau Engine team decided to transition to a "community-driven approach," transferring the task of further developing the engine to the developer community. It was also announced that ITMO University would handle the technical support for Nau Engine, while APRIORI would be responsible for expert support.

According to APRIORI representatives, this approach to working on the engine eliminates the need for a legal entity.

Development of the Nau Engine officially began in 2023, funded by VK, which invested a billion rubles in its creation. The complete release of the engine is planned for late 2025, though an exact date has not yet been disclosed.
