Machine Zone no longer has people to develop new games

Over the past six months, Machine Zone has undergone several waves of layoffs. As a result, as of today, the studio’s staff has been reduced to only a "minimally necessary team" focused on supporting Game of War and Mobile Strike.

Lior Shiff, CEO of Tripledot Studios, shared this in an interview with PocketGamer. Recently, Tripledot Studios officially agreed to acquire Machine Zone along with nine other game studios from AppLovin, which will now focus on the advertising business.

According to Shiff, Machine Zone currently lacks the capacity to work on new games. Therefore, the studio has no plans to develop new games.

The latest project Machine Zone worked on was the vampire strategy game Reign of Vampires. It was reportedly in the soft launch stage and was recently canceled.

There are no plans to close Game of War, Mobile Strike, or Machine Zone itself. As Shiff stated, both games have a "rich historical legacy," and Tripledot Studios aims to preserve this for their audience. Notably, according to AppMagic's estimates, the projects have generated a total of $2.1 billion in net IAP revenue since 2015 (Game of War was released in 2013, but AppMagic tracks data starting only from 2015.).

Earlier, in an interview with MobileGamer, Shiff stated that Tripledot Studios does not intend to conduct new layoffs in the studios acquired from AppLovin. On the contrary, they plan to expand the staff of some of them.
