Unity details assistance for authorized developers working on the Nintendo Switch 2
Unity Technologies has declared its intention to back developers with "official support for Nintendo Switch 2."
The company announced that soon, Unity 6 will include an add-on designed for authorized Nintendo developers. This initiative aims to broaden Unity’s dedication to assisting creators in realizing their projects across numerous platforms.
Those working on Nintendo's upcoming console can look forward to enhancements in rendering and performance, complete multiplayer solutions, and improved development documentation.
Moreover, Unity has committed to simplifying the process for developers who wish to transfer their current Nintendo Switch games to the new Nintendo Switch 2. This will be achieved by offering full compatibility with significant Unity 6 features such as updated input systems, build profiles, and an incremental build pipeline.
Matthew Bromberg, Unity’s CEO and President, expressed enthusiasm about this development: “We’re excited to offer official support for Nintendo Switch 2."
He also mentioned that Unity has conducted practical development on a game scheduled for release on the new console’s launch day. The insights gathered are expected to lead to further refinements of the Unity engine, benefiting developers creating new titles for this platform.
