Work on the next game in The Witcher franchise, codenamed Project Polaris, is actively progressing, announced CD PROJEKT CEO Michał Nowakowski. According to him, the project will soon move into the full development phase.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Currently, the majority of CD PROJEKT's developers are engaged with Project Polaris. As of June 30, 2024, the game's team consisted of 410 members.
In comparison, the number of team members for other game projects are:
- Project Orion (sequel to Cyberpunk 2077) — 60 people;
- Project Sirius (a The Witcher spin-off by The Molasses Flood) — 42 people;
- Project Hadar (a new IP) — 20 people.
Nowakowski also mentioned that CD PROJEKT's Boston studio is working intensely on the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel. However, they are currently only "laying the foundations" for the game. Nowakowski did not specify when full development would commence.
