PlayStation 5 support has been added to Defold
The Defold Foundation has announced that its engine now supports the development of games for PlayStation 5. You can get all the necessary tools, documentation and source code of the engine for free. The only limitation is that you need to be an approved PlayStation developer to access them.
The creators of Defold added support for PlayStation 5 eight months after the engine started working with PlayStation 4. Support for the previous Sony console appeared in mid-June 2023.
Now Defold allows you to make games for PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch, PC, iOS, Android and HTML5. By the end of 2024, the Defold Foundation also plans to add support for Xbox consoles.
