Rumor: Connie Booth, vice president of game development, has left Sony. She has worked for the company for 34 years
Connie Booth, vice president of game development, has left Sony. So say the sources of the creator of the God of War series, David Jaffe.
The game designer said that he does not know all the details, and he does not know if she left or was fired. But he had heard that the PlayStation team had left along with Booth.
According to Jaffe, Booth's duties will now be performed by Angie Smets, who has been in charge of the PlayStation Studios Development strategy department since April 2023.
Booth began her career at Sony in 1989. In 34 years, she has been involved in the creation of more than a hundred games, including Crash Bandicoot, Ratchet & Clank, Uncharted, The Last of Us and Marvel's Spider-Man.
In 2020, the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences inducted Booth into the Hall of Fame for his work "on Sony Interactive Entertainment's many favorite games."
