Project manager Godot urged developers not to rush to abandon Unity
After the change in Unity monetization, many developers announced plans to move to another platform. Godot project manager Remi Verschelde, amid increased interest in the engine, warned that such a decision should not be hasty.
Verschelde said he was also shocked by what happened and believes that Unity’s updated pricing policy will not lead to anything good. However, he firmly believes that developers need to think carefully before changing the engine
“I like that you are looking closely at Godot, but take your time. Weigh the pros and cons,” he wrote on X (Twitter). “We have a great engine, but none of the software is perfect, and we don’t want you to switch to it in a panic and end up disappointed because it can’t replace what you gave up.”
