Godot developers have launched an engine support fund
On September 12, the Godot open engine team officially announced the launch of the Godot Development Fund. She will collect donations through him for the development of the engine.
Godot is a free engine that earns money through sponsorship of companies and donations from developers through platforms like Patreon.
According to the engine team, unlike the same Patreon, its foundation will not charge a commission from donations. As a result, all donations made by developers will go directly to Godot. The fund will also allow Godot to reduce dependence on large grants from companies.
Formally, the Godot Development Fund appeared back in July. Since then, the engine has been supported by more than 700 people.
