Unity has prepared a financial report for the second quarter of 2021. Its revenue has grown to $273.6 million, but the company still does not make a profit. Operating losses amounted to $149.2 million at once, or 55% of revenue.

Key figures:

  • Unity did not explain the reason for the increase in costs. It may have been affected by the company’s M&A activity. Today, it also announced the purchase of Parsec, but this deal will close only in the third quarter.
  • at the end of the quarter, the company had $1 billion in its accounts;
  • Unity reported that over the past 12 months, 888 customers have earned over $100 thousand. In 2019 , she had 716 such clients;
  • Among other achievements, the company highlighted the launch of a grant to help those developers who use RT3D (Real-time 3D) technology for positive environmental changes. Unity also began to cooperate with three car manufacturers and a number of non-gaming brands. And released Unity Computer Vision Datasets — an array of synthetic data that is used, among other things, for AI training;
  • Unity has revised its forecast for the whole of 2021 and is now going to earn $1.04–1.06 billion during this time. This is 35%-37% more than in the whole of 2019.
