Autodesk has significantly reduced the subscription for indie teams
While Epic Games is investing in Blender, Autodesk has reduced the cost of Maya and 3ds Max packages for indie studios by 6 times.
Competition among professional tools for creating 3D graphics is gaining momentum. A year ago, Epic Games supported Blender in the amount of $ 1.2 million — a free program that is popular with novice artists without extra money for expensive software. In response, Autodesk lowered the subscription price for its services. However, only for the USA, Canada, New Zealand, Great Britain and Australia.
And this August, the company has already decided to compete for an audience in other countries. Now indie teams from 26 more countries in Europe, Asia and South America will be able to buy a subscription cheaper. The main condition is to earn less than $ 100 thousand a year. Autodesk informed users about this by email.
From August 7, you can subscribe to Maya and 3ds Max for about $ 250 per year (the exact price depends on the country). This is slightly more than a standard monthly subscription. The annual package so far costs $1,620.
Whether a reduced price will be available in Russia is not specified.
