The creators of Unity have posted the source code of the engine for review (UPDATED)
Unity Technologies has posted header files to Unity sources and its C# editor on GitHub. The company shared information so that game developers could better understand the device and the capabilities of the engine.
We are talking about laying out the interface part, which can help developers better understand how the engine works, and not about the code itself.
The company stressed that it does not transfer the engine to the status of an open source project. Posted Unity resources can be read, but cannot be modified.
Unity Technologies has promised to update the engine repository on GitHub after the release of each new version of Unity, so that developers can monitor changes within the software component of the toolkit.
Editor’s comment: initially, we incorrectly indicated that we are talking about C# sources in general. That’s not so.
