A new version of Unity – 2017.3 has been released
The Unity game engine received a major update before Christmas. In version 2017.3, working with panoramic videos has been simplified and Xbox One X support has appeared.
If we talk a little more, then there are:
- the ability to add and play 2D and 3D videos inside the skybox to create panoramic videos with a 180 or 360 degree view;
- an improved particle system that allows you to create “ribbons” of shaders for effects like smoke or steam;
- 4K HDR resolution support for those who are preparing a project for Xbox One X;
- an update of the tool for creating and viewing animations, which now allows you to zoom in, crop and adjust to the size of the animation editor window.
Also, in Unity 2017.3 expanded opportunities to work with physics, lighting and many others.
A full list of innovations can be found on the Unity engine blog.
