Unity Buy SDK will allow you to order goods directly in the game

The Canadian online trading platform Shopify has introduced the Unity Buy devkit, which allows you to buy real goods in games.

Using the Unity Buy SDK, you can add a virtual “showcase” with goods that can be ordered at home to any game on the Unity engine.

Shopify’s devkit features are already being used in the Snowman studio’s indie platformer Alto’s Adventure, where gamers can buy warm socks, knitted hats and other branded merchandise.

Unity Buy also allows you to open access to goods when you reach a certain point in the game. Devkit can use in-game data: for example, a player can buy a T-shirt showing how far he has progressed in the game.

The Unity Buy SDK is available to all developers with a Shopify account. More detailed information, including a detailed guide on how to use devkit, can be found on the company’s website.
