Unity 5.5 beta is out
The beta version of the next update to the Unity engine has become available for download – Unity 5.5. About the most important innovations – in our material.
The Courtyard
The new release continues the practice started by the previous update.
Now the developers first make the beta available for download, and then – after patches and feedback – update it to the full version.
Unity 5.4 went from beta to full release for almost five months (beta was released in March, release – at the very end of July).
Among the main innovations of Unity 5.5:
- improving the rendering of lines and paths (goodbye, ladder?);
- the appearance of the Lights Module for convenient work with light, which also allows you to attach the properties of light sources to particles in real time;
- the appearance of a Noise Module that adds noise to the movement of particles;
- the appearance of the WebGL 2.0 option by default in new projects.
The full list of innovations can be found here.
