Wooga will create a department of game development for wearable devices
Wooga believes that wearable gadgets are more promising than VR. Therefore, the company will create a game development department for wearable devices.

Last week, representatives of Wooga announced that they were not going to develop games for virtual reality.
The company will bet on games for wearable gadgets. Wooga will create a branch that will produce projects exclusively for this segment of the industry.
“Our projects are designed for a wider audience – for those who play in short sessions. VR is the exact opposite of that. That’s why we’re focusing on wearables. I think people would rather buy a smartwatch than a VR headset,” said Wooga CEO Jens Begemann.
Wooga hired Paul Virapen as the head of the new department. Prior to that, he headed the WearGa studio. The team has only one project on its account so far – a clicker for Cupcake Dungeon smart watches.
Let’s add that in the spring of 2015, Wooga released the first (and so far the only) project for smart watches – “Tamagotchi” called Toby. Judging by the number of downloads, the game failed to gain popularity.
