Marmalade's 2D and 3D game development kits have been released
The British company Marmalade, the author of the cross-platform SDK of the same name, has released two new sets of tools for creating 2D and 3D games. They are called Marmalade 2D Kit and 3D Kit.
Both sets of tools are designed to simplify the creation of 2D and 3D games using the Marmalade SDK.
Marmalade 2D Kit includes a 2D Editor for creating levels, game menus, inserts, and more. This development environment is managed via the drag-and-drop interface. The content that is created using the Marmalade 2D Kit integrates with applications made on Marmalade Core using the C++ or Lua language.
Marmalade 2D Kit is in beta and is available at the link.
Marmalade 3D Kit includes tools and APIs to simplify the development of 3D games based on Marmalade Core. With this kit, the developer will be able to export models from Maya, 3ds Max or any other editor with FBX format support. Marmalade 3D Kit also allows you to control cameras, add lighting and animation.
Here is the full documentation and tutorials for both development environments.
